Does anyone have any data for these hulls, the black ones? I have CCI 209’s and Winchester 209’s. I also have SG-16 wads.

Swampy -- Claybuster's 16 gauge wads are indeed double-A clones. However, they make one that is a direct clone of the WAA16, their number CB100-16 for lead shot loads from 1 oz. to 1 1/8 oz, and another, the CB078-16 for 7/8 ounce. the CB078-16 is externally the same dimensions as the CB100-16, but it has a little hump in the bottom of the shot cup to reduce it's capacity and make lighter shot loads fit in the same hulls.

Feel free to browse the internet a little. You'll find lots of loads for these wads in the Remington SP hull, which is the same inside as the black Rem Game Load hull. Here's a start: http://www.claybusterwads.com/index.php/product-by-gauge/by-gauge-16 Then you can go to the websites of Hodgdon, Ballistic Products, etc.

I was always told you could swap rem or bpsg (g28 same wad)wad for waa 16 wad and get less pressure, I have always done that and I confirmed it with data available. See here
But I’m not telling you it’s ok for you. Make your own decision.

Hope it helps

Just in case someone didn’t agree about g28 have been down 5hat road before. Use to have some laying around in active bag from decades ago but shot them all.

The shells I have are all once fired, I fired them myself. I started saving these before I started loading. I haven’t looked at them in years. Well, they seem to be a but crispy and some are cracked. Plus, I can barely squeeze an SG-16 into them. And I can’t get a crimp to save my life. I don’t get it.

Jta5er, that’s a very generous offer but I don’t think these hulls are worth it. What is an r16 btw? I have an old bag of Remington Power piston SP-16’s, are they the same? They did fit fairly well into these hulls.

R16 is 1 oz Remington wad sp16 is 1 1/8 wad. Sp 16 is great for 2.5” 1oz loads. You can use filler in sp16 and load 2 3/4” hulls with 1oz.
