Friend wants to change a barrel on a shotgun. The Polychoke on the old one is the old permanent installed one. He'd like to swap it out. Last I heard Polychoke had sold to a place in Wisconsin, but can't find them any more. Facebook page was from 2015, and webpage doesn't work. Nothing found on search engines. Looking maybe to find someone who can remove the old barrel insert and reinstall it. 12 gauge. Appreciate any contacts.

Are you talking a Remington barrel with the integral Poly-Choke?

When I got serious about western action shooting I bought a pair of '97s. Bothe worked out. I won a match in a monsoon rain with a full length full choke, vintage of the second to last production year. The older, about 1908, had been shortened and a Weaver "dial-a-duck" choke cluttering up the business end. I cut it off to 22 inches and had a thinwall choke installed.
How much retirement money did I lose by discarding the choke? |
