Gentlemen,

The Pa 2021 Grouse season ended on a very wet day, got tired of hunting in the rain, few birds taken including Woodcock. Pheasant season this year was disappointing also, but continues into Feb. We can only hope for a less rainy Grouse and Woodcock season in 2022! I am hoping this weather has not damaged our Grouse population for next season, this season has been a complete wash out. Only 4 cold sun shinny days the entire Grouse season.

all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave

Picture from a much better Grouse season.

Dave sorry you had a poor Grouse season, I lost 2 Saturdays this season due to heavy rain / storm conditions and the Saturday before Christmas my son came down with covid so I was isolating but ended up ok , we got out on the Monday after Christmas and had a good day on the Pheasants, he was shooting his 16ga French sxs , we went to the range on the Wednesday where he got 3rd in a wee fun shoot in really blustery conditions, we had planned for another day on the Pheasants on the following Saturday and when Saturday came I felt really ruff and tested positive for covid , so that's been the way our season has been going.
But the season isn't over to the end of January so hopefully we will get a few more days in the woods .
Don't get too down Dave I know times are hard at the minute but I think we should all be thankful of whatever little time we get out chasing our prey in the woods and seeing the dogs doing what they do , anyway going on too much here , can't wait to feel a bit better and get out again ,
All the best guys WJ.

We had an unusually good season for blues (now called Sooty grouse) and Ruffed Grouse in Western WA, so much so that towards the end of deer season we simply drove past them without stopping for a flush and a shot as they pecked for gravel on the logging roads. Sometimes things just work out that way…and we’re not complaining!

Cheers
B.

Yes it’s a 20 ga 870 but it really knocks them down!
