I've been toying with the idea of picking up one of the new 525 Sporting 16ga that are available now, but I do not like the dimensions of the 12ga model. Way too much LOP for me, and I don't want to cut the stock. The Field models are fine, but I wanted the Sporting with 30" barrel if possible.
I can't find the stock info anywhere, anyone happen to know? |

Try contacting Bill Hanus. He handles that particular gun and should be able to give you the info you need.
Sorry, but I don't have his web address but if you Google Bill Hanus you'll find him.
BTW, I have one of those guns in the field grade and it's great. |

here is the response I got from a friend who works at Browning in Utah:
LOP = 14 3/4"
Drop at Comb = 1 9/16"
Drop at Heel = 2 3/16"
Pitch = 2 1/2"
Cast off = 1/16" |

Thanks!!!
The LOP is too long, but otherwise it will work fine. It may be as simple as pulling the recoil pad off and putting a hard plastic buttplate on it. Could just go with the Field and put extended chokes in it, a much cheaper option. I will be looking for one of these to handle. |
