Okay, before you crucify me, I’m simply trying to build confidence in my son for hunting. I’m seeking advice on a cheap red dot scope to mount on my 870 express 16 gauge. In an ideal world I don’t pay more than $100-$120 for scope and mounting needs combined. I’ve never found the need for such fancy devices but anything I can do to improve success when patterning or squeezing on a tom is ideal. |

A set screw on to the rib true glows may work
if your son has a astigmatism a red dot may not be ideal
then a prism scope /sight may be an option |

what I've found with Red Dots' , is that in BRIGHT lite conditions the dot disappears , and in dim lite , it can be too bright and overwhelm your view . Might want to try one b4 buying and mtg . |
