I have not handled personally but they certainly look nice — and always great to see another quality gunmaker introduce 16s. The only knock I’ve heard from a guy who owns one — and loves it — is that they are extremely light, which makes it a joy to carry while upland bird hunting but not so fun to shoot at clays due to recoil. |

Thanks for the advice. This would be the grouse gun, so I'm looking for something light, and this has a lot of the specs I want w/o breaking the bank too bad. The one knock I see on them is that bright orange front sight, which I find kind of ugly, but I guess I could have a smith replace that. |

Ive got one
Joy to carry for grouse.
It is light. Best I could shoot on skeet is a 23.
Shot a bunch of rabbits with it as well with some Golden Pheasant #5s
Got a bunch of Federal steel 4s, I think Im going to wade a creek near me and jump shoot some ducks this fall. |

I've been thinking about the SLX for a while now. I bought a SL in 20 gauge for my girlfriend and she loves it. She shot trap with it last summer and found that the recoil with target loads is very manageable. Personally, I don't think her 20 gauge fits me very well, but it sure is light and easy to carry.
I have enough light weight grouse guns I really don't need another in the safe tying up my cash, but that Franchi is well made and quite pretty.
That said, if they made the LX or the sideplate model in 16 gauge they'd have my money by now. |

Franchi does make an Instinct SLX O/U in 16 gauge. 28” barrels and five choke tubes. |
