Rusty is a border collie.
Guns pictured:
12 ga. Weatherby Olympian, 12 ga. William Cashmore double, 12 ga. Win Model 12, 16 ga. Cogswell & Harrison with 2 1/2" chambers, ATI .410 O/U, and a Parker EH 10 with damascus barrels.
It seems that of my 16's the Cogswell gets the nod almost exclusively these days. |

Thank you. Rusty sure looks like a great companion. Border collie hunting birds - never would've guessed it! |

Great pics! This is also a lesson to me to slow down, relax and remember to take in my surroundings more and use the camera I always have with me.
Thanks for the great photos and the inspiration.

Great to see and hear about Rusty’s adventures again. Looks like it was a hood season. |

Canada's can be pretty good grilled medium rare, but my favorite use of them by far is to grind the meat up with 20-25% bacon trimmings to make one amazing hamburger. This can be used to make plain old hamburgers or mixed in any variety of casserole dishes. The burgers are good enough that I have largely stopped putting the extra effort into casseroles. |

Will have to try the hamburgers, sounds great!
For grilling, I usually marinate at least 3 hours with Italian dressing mixed with some onions & peppers, then do a London broil thing. As you said, medium rare is the way! If the folks I’m cooking for like a less gamy meat, I soak in buttermilk 24 hours before the marinating. |

Proving again, it’s not so much the destination as the journey and memories made. Great photos. Love the the waterfowl! |
