Well if jpgbx is back that’s good, but glad it went down long enough to force me into looking for another. I think imagur is a good one too and having two options is better than one. Dave bet you heard that “ Two is one, and one is none”. |

Yes, I find box turtle shells in the woods and fit slate into them and epoxy it in place. It's my favorite slate call. I make strikers from rivercane or match it up with my collection of strikers. The slate can be fragile and I inevitably break the lip, usually when someone piles gear on top of it. They still work, but don't look as good. I've started making a simple "case" to prevent breakage. The one covered was given to a friend last week. I would never kill a turtle for its shell--bad karma; they can be found in the woods before the squirrels chew them. Here's the business side of the call displayed:
