I've been looking to add one of these to my collection. Let me know if you have one sitting around collecting dust you would possibly sell.

Can we see a pic or two of your grade 6? I have a grade 7.

I'm still looking for an Ideal. I have only had this one gun above so far turn up. It's a little bit higher grade/money than what I'm lookin for but let me know if anybody else has one they would sell.

I could never get used to the safety and how I tried. I finally sold it because I could never get the safety off when a bird flushed!

Nice gun, Milt. You don’t see those everyday.

Best,
Ted

I always wondered if that was the case. That issue has kept me from owning one. Makes one wonder what the reasoning was behind that design to begin with. Such an odd design for such an otherwise beautiful gun.

Thanks Ted.

Regarding the safety, I have only used it on quail with pointing dogs so there is time to push the safety off.

The alternative I have heard but not tried is keeping the gun open with the safety off. The shells are kept from falling out while walking is to slightly deform the shell so it sticks in the chamber and alternately using scotch tape assuming the firing pins still set off the shells. I am not recommending these since I have not tried it.
