Anyone got any simple drawings of a portable bench table?

I turned a workmate into a handy/portable shooting bench.

This is the best portable shooting bench I've found in my 70+years of shooting. Rick Jamison got everything right on this one. It was the bench of choice for me and my shooting buddy to get into the VHA 500 and 1000 yard clubs. All the high dollar benches we tried were just not steady enough for that shooting.

There is a long running thread on 24hourcampfire about using very similar brackets to the ones Riflemeister used in his table link. A guy over there makes them and sells, says usually has them on hand ready to ship.

I have zero affiliation with him, but tons and tons of guys over there have bought from him and built benches. Lots of pictures embedded in this thread as well.

Looks like in January he raised his prices due to shipping costs-

To anyone interested. I still have brackets for sale and on hand. Even if I happen to be out, I can usually make up some within a week or so. So for anybody interested, feel free to contact me anytime through PM here or send email to.

I recently did decide to raise the price to $55 shipped, for a set of 3, due to the shipping costs and materials rising over the past few years. I'll will also sell sets of 4 shipped for $70.

Thanks and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Have a great 2022!

That $55 price for a set of three brackets to build a Jamison style bench is a bargain unless you have a fully equipped shop with good welding ability.

Reviewing the info I posted on the Rick Jamison bench, it states the legs are angled at 18 to 19 degrees, but I recall the original Jamison plans specified 11 degrees. I will be the first to admit that I'm pushing 81 years old real hard, and my bench was built back 31 years ago, but that 11 degree number sure seems real. Anyone with personal knowledge on building one of these shooting benches back in the day?

I'm sure it will work well at either 11 or 18 degrees, but now I'll probably spend time trying to resolve the issue.

I got my Rick Jamison shooting bench out in preparation for a prairie dog shoot and checked the angle of the legs and they are at 18 degrees as noted in the link I posted instead of the 11 degrees I thought I remembered. Oh well, I do turn 81 in a couple of months and need to remember to not trust my memory so much anymore.
