Does anyone know what happened to member byrdog? He hasn’t posted in a long time. I finally started to use his excellent hull trimmer and I wanted to let him know how pleased I am with it. Hope he’s OK.

A couple years ago I contacted him and ordered one of his trimmers. He was having some health issues then, that was well before Covid. I haven’t heard from him since then.

I'm a little worried that he might have been a covid casualty. Hope not, he was a straight shooter.

Cliff's info is : Cliff Russell , p.o. box338 , Perry , Maine , 04667 .... his e-mail was : "Swansisland@tds.net ".... Tried to contact him awhile back and no response . As was stated , he said he had a problem and wasn't doing well .... He's a hell of a gunsmith and did everything he could to bring the Davis back to life ! Of course , hope he's OK .

Hope not. In the obituary there is no mention of hunting or firearms related hobbies.

I'm inclined to doubt the deceased and our byrdog were the same guy. Bates College, where the deceased taught, is in Lewiston, about 20 miles this side of Augusta. Perry and The Moosehorn, where our byrdog lives and hunts, are hard against the Canadian border in the far southeastern corner of the state. I'd have to look at the map but I think part of the municipal border of Perry is also the Canadian border. (I looked. It is.
Right in the middle of the St. Croix river.) They are a good 6 hours' drive apart, and only the first 90 miles or so are interstate.

Like was said above, the deceased's obit said nothing about hunting or gunsmithing, and that's the kind of thing that wouldn't be omitted.

I believe D-I-M is correct ... on investigation , our guy is Cliff A. Russell , Perry Maine , wife June . I have the listed # , and when I think it's appropriate , I'll give him a call !
