Aweome pics guys. Now I'm getting fired up. Have a trip to North Dakota for late October planned, and then home for a few days, then back to South Dakota. Probably have to get a divorce after that trip because it will be the 3rd anniversary weekend in a row I was in South Dakota, but man, it sure is fun.

Sorry for the picture overload. Wild birds and pointy dogs gets me excited. Smile

Relaxation time. The mutt in the middle is the wifes, and worthless (but a nice pet)

Gotta harden them up before the season.

Here's a good one gone Sad

Nice looking shorthairs. They look as comfy as mine in a leather chair!

Great pics, all of them. I think one of the coolest things about this site is seeing the dogs & terrain people hunt.

Molly has yet to hunt… this year will be her first. Can’t wait to get on some birds with her!
However, we did take a break from training to spend some time on the lake.

Chicago, Rusty will turn 10 years old in early November.

Cheesy and win7stw, Some of those North Dakota pics look very, very, familiar. Pretty sure they are some of the same ones that have treated me pretty well over the past 20+ years. Cheesy, one of those shots of yours, seems to be where I lost part of my Cashmore last year. I hiked back 1/2 mile and actually found it where I had kneeled and broke the gun down for cleaning after clumsiness got dirt in the thing while it was open. It was the extractor anvil (screw was broken) and would have been a bear to make from scratch. Small world indeed, and no I'm not telling anyone where those spots are! You're secrets are safe...

Interestingly enough, one of the photos in this year's PF calendar was taken on familiar ground too. I have actually shot a rooster between the same tree and white barn on that abandoned place. A friend wanted to buy the place back in those days and turn the barn into a dance floor. Never happened though. I am meeting him up there this fall for his final hunt. Good memories from North Dakota for sure. I love seeing these pictures. Thanks for posting them.

Crazy. I was sure the one hillside was where the winding road passed north of the railroad. Of course, a lot of the Dakotas and Nebraska look a like. It's not like that barn in the February PF calendar photo. I do know of some other members here who actually have hunted that ground where I lost the gun part, I figured you had been there with them.

At any rate, have lots of fun, the habitat conditions are great this year based on my observations earlier this summer and what friends have been telling me. I will be up that way in mid September and sometime in November. I'm trying to time that Nov. trip to coincide with some waterfowl activity. I plan to wear out the kid I'm taking with me by hunting upland and waterfowl every day. I want the trip to be the one he always compares other events to.
