The time has come to clean out some of my treasures. I have never used one of the many auction sites. Is this the way to go or is there a better option. Please advise.
I have a several good ones, not all 100% condition but good serviceable weapons that I have used for hunting and Clays for many years. No dings, no cracks, No rust, but they have handling wear from being carried on many a hunt.
What do you recommend.
Thanks
Joe |

List it with detailed description and price
State whether shipping is included and if not what’s shipping cost (shipping and insuring long guns in lower 48 usually costs $70 these days, depending on distance and insured value)
You can insure it with the shipper, usps, ups, etc.
State what payment method you accept, uspsmo, certified check, personal check, etc.
Include pics or be willing to text or e mail pics
After you and buyer agree on price the buyer mails you funds and a copy of an FFL to ship the gun to.
I personally only take uspsmo or certified checks for anything of significant value
Ship the gun to that FFL and that FFL transfers the gun to the buyer
I believe you can legally ship a long gun from yourself to an FFL. Most FFLs Will want a copy of your drivers license for such a transaction. Or you can have a local FFL ship it from their FFL tp the buyers FFL. They usually charge $25+ to do that. |

Easy, buyer send you funds and either his FFL information for you to give to your FFL or his FFL reaches out to your FFL direct after you have funds in hand.
Your FFL charges you a fee to ship gun to his FFL.
His FFL runs the insta-check on his end and charges the buyer a fee for that. |

Not to be the spoiler but, this site is dedicated to the 16ga and I believe the rules state that only 16ga should be posted for sale.
I use gunbroker.com and they have a step by step procedure to help with selling, pictures, shipping, etc, but you will pay a modest fee for their services. I sell all my non-16 items on there.
I also use Rock Island Auctions for my more pricier items. They do everything for you and do a very, very professional job. That having been said, they charge for their work.
Then there is Gunrunner Auctions. They do a little less then RIA for a lesser price.
Also, we have a local paper called Louisiana Sportsman where you can sell person to person.
Kind of like selling a car, you can do it yourself, or use carvana, or take it to a dealer.
Don't know if this helps or hurts but it has all worked for me from time to time.
Good luck,
Chuck |

I have used gun tab twice. Once to purchase and once to sell. Both times it went smoothly. The first time was a little slow due to both me and the seller setting up accounts. It took a few extra days to verify accounts for both of us.
Other than that it was very smooth. |
