Pre ww1 16ga Suhl ejector 30” barreled beauty

stock was cracked, cocking knuckle in forend was missing and all the finish was gone.
Cole Haugh did all the restoration. Great job!
It’s really hard for me not to save these great old guns and they are so much fun to hunt.

Sie ist eine Schönheit!

Always wondered about those horn trigger guards; any special maintenance or care needed to keep them in good shape? Re; often see horn butt plates with worm holes eaten through them.

Restoration of a well used sporting arm is indeed a noble endeavor! I heartily applaud your efforts. 👏. I wish you have ample sporting opportunities to enjoy them!

Thanks I usually get in about a dozen dove shoots a year (after oct1st when corn is cut here) and 6 or 7 bird/rabbit hunts. Just bought my last duck boat but those guns won’t be going in that! Anyway about the horn trigger guards; yes they can be a bit fragile but not any worse than forend wood. The purpose is you can go gloveless without your trigger hand being as cold since horn doesn’t get cold like steel. Yes it does make a big difference. I hated the look when I was younger but got over that about a decade ago with my first bird gun with one.

Beautiful guns.

I have a soft spot for them too, I saw one that really had me wanting it but it was a 12 gauge. I just have to be patient for a 16.
