I am looking at a couple of Darnes. One fellow says that his gun has been restocked and that we tried to match the butt stock to the forearm. I thought that darnes had a one piece stock. The other seller says that the model is a "Grand Bois". I have never heard of this model. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Larry Very Happy Very Happy

Ted will soon be along to help you but with the paucity of information provided it will be difficult. Do you have pics or any other descriptive information? -Dick

No pictures of the one but the other one can be seen on doublegunhq.com. You will have to click on the search box and then type in darne and there are two photos in said place. Thanks in advance. Larry

Hey Larry,

French guns are not my forte, but if I were looking at that gun, I'd ask the seller for photos of the "light pitting" that he talks about. Actually, I'd ask for more photos of the gun overall. And I would request a inspection period. I never brought a gun unseen, but that would be a deal breaker.

Good luck.

Peter

Need more pics particulary of the top lever and what is actually marked there and then stock with spacer in place. Flat markings will help if the owner knows how to take apart. On the surface looks like R11. Question if the chambers are marked 65mm, have they been bored to 2&3/4"? Good or bad depending on how you look at it. F/M for the 1930's translates into very tightly choked for modern poly wad type ammunition.
Ted is the expert and needs to weigh in here. -Dick

Thanks for the reply. I will try to get the seller to send some pictures. The photo that shows the open gun looks exactly like the F.Darne that I already have. Larry Very Happy Very Happy
