I love mine -- a .410 Venus, coin finish, double triggers and 29-inch barrels. It has quickly become one of my favorite shotguns.

I've got another UGC shotgun in the works -- a light 12 gauge sxs, also on the trim Venus frame. I've added some extra features and upgraded the wood on this one compared to my .410. We'll see how she comes out. I am also thinking about having UGS build a waterfowl gun on their O/U platform.

29" barrels, case color, single trigger, extractors, flat rib, POW stock, beavertail FE, choke tubes, full coverage engraving, grade 4 wood, gauge in gold on rib, orange pad.

Do you know what your 12 will weigh?

I was interested in a 12ga to shoot Helice with, I called and talked to Nick Larson at UGC and he said a 12ga with 30" barrels would probably weigh under 7lbs, too light for what I wanted, so I went with a 16ga for a hunting gun.

I'm told my 12 will weigh in around 6 pounds, maybe a bit more since I went with 28-inch barrels, fixed chokes, 2 3/4-inch chambers. It's got the splinter forend, straight English stock, double triggers, no sideplates.

I had thought about picking up a light, vintage 12 English sxs but given the difficulty in obtaining 2 1/2-inch shells these days and the fact that we have to hunt exclusively with nontoxic shot here in California where I live, I chose to recreate a modern, English-style game gun on the trim UGC Venus platform -- one that could handle steel shot and modern loads.

I enjoy shooting my guns at clay targets as well so hopefully the recoil will me manageable in such a light gun.

A 6 lb 12 gauge would be awesome if that’s what it ends up weighing, even up to 6 lbs 4ozs. My Trojan is 6lbs 5ozs and because of its balance feels lighter. I’m old school in the fact that 26” barrels don’t bother me, I feel it’s all about gun fit. I’d love to have a 6lb 12 with 26” barrels. Let us know the final weight.

I’d go with number one. I don’t like the grain flow of number two in the wrist area and number three is not as bad as two but not as nice as number one. Just my opinion.

I had originally picked #1(it has my name on it) out of another group.
But the left side is a little dark for my taste.
I fully understand and appreciate the advice, but my taste makes me pick from 2 and 3 and hope for the best. Laughing
