Gentlemen,

I am picky about the Shells I use in my L.C. Smith guns, I have never used the Aguila made shells. I remember Remington setting up this factory in Mexico years ago.
I have never used any of these shotgun shells tell me about them please. Will they fit in my L.C. Smith guns correctly and work properly?

all the best,

The Aguila hulls that I have seen at the vintage shoot at Powder Creek gun club measured 2 5/8" and fit fine in my 1924 Ideal 16ga. The shells are advertised as 2 3/4 but like others they are only 2 5/8. I have not used the factory loads but measured the empty hulls that I pick up at the skeet field.

I have used Aguila cartridges on and off for the last two bird seasons. Notes: They are affordable here in Canada. They are made of what appears to be very good quality components. They burn clean. They are of proper dimension to use in my short chambered Model 12 16 bore.
I have used most in my Remington Model 1148 16 bore.
Very tight and nicely crimped to enhance feeding in my auto loaders. The loads I have are the 1 1/8 oz. #6 the box says 1250 fps. A lighter slower 1 OZ. load would suit my needs better but they work. They bust through early season cover well.
I have used up almost 3 boxes and I would consider them a step up from any promotional stuff usually available.
Hope this helps. They are good cartridges. I wish I could find some for my .410's.

Darryl

Darryl,

Thank you sir very much, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I will now purchase some of them. The draw back of course is they are made in Mexico, not in the USA.
I am trying to keep the cost down and still use high quality shells in my good guns.
At least the 2 3/4" is available, I saw no 2 1/2" shells in their inventory on line.

all the best,
