Ballistic products has a new bp1680 wad in stock. I just hung up the phone with them. They claim the new wad has the same dimensions as the old pt1680 but made from a heavier plastic. He advised pressures will be higher with this wad. Anyone want to weigh in on opinions?

Weight difference should not radically increase pressure, though I would get the load tested to feel best.

The thicker plastic maybe better for steel loads.

Loaded a small sample of 5ea of the last load on their recipe page, 5-PT1680 & 5-BP1680. Fedx delivered to PR yesterday, and now we wait...

Weighing in a sampling of 5ea weighed on a RCBS 502 beam in grains;

HelarcoVP80, 33.3,33,33,33.6,33.2,avg 33.22

PT1680, 33.5,33.2,33.5,33.3,33.4,avg 33.38

BP1680, 32.6,31.4,31.4,32.6,31,avg 31.8

1.58grn difference looks to be in the range of ~1- #7-#6 lead pellet.
