Picked up a couple of my LC Smith duns from Dean Harris today. Had taken him my 16ga Ideal model to repair a top lever malfunction and my 10ga hammer gun to have pitting removed from the barrels of the 1894 model.
He had found a split in the stock of the 16ga that he repaired and had spent a bunch of time removing lead from the barrels of the 10ga as well as repairing the latch on the forearm. All for a very good price that was much better than I had expected since he did not have to actually bore out the barrels to remove pitting like I expected.
Made for a very happy man who is heading to the Whittington Center tommorow to shoot with the Rocky Mountain Vintagers, |
