I have several cans of Hodgdon Powders:
Universal Clays Technology,
Universal, and
Clays.
Are these all the same powder? |

There are 3 powders in the Hodgdon Clays family
Universal
International
Clays
Universal labels often say Universal Clays Technology and they are the same. Clays is a totally different powder than Universal although they both fall under the Clays family name. Confusing it is. I contacted Hodgdon back in January and they said none of the Clays family of powders will be available for sale until sometime next year. If your sitting on some good for you.
Labels can vary on the Universal but it is still Universal Clays Technology powder
Never mind the Clay Dot that is an Alliant knock off Hodgdon Clays. But Hodgdon Clays and International
All great powders but I prefer Green Dot for 16 ga. 7/8 oz. and 1 oz. Although Universal and International will work as well. Clays is a bit fast for my preference in the 16 but there are loads out there for it. |
