Recently purchased a bunch of older 16ga reloading components and besides all the usual stuff these were in the mix in a box obviously not original packaging. Have never seen these before so wondering if anyone here knows what they are. For perspective there were a lot of Alcan and Rem57 era components in the mix of stuff.
Anyone familiar with these? |

Alcan Air Wedge Wad
Over the powder, under the felt or cork/fiber wad
Look in Lyman #2 Shotshell Manual

Yup, many times they were attached to a fiber wad, but they came as a separate gas seal also. They are a great component. I have a bunch in 12 gauge, none for 16 though. |

Thanks for the clarification. Seems as though Alcan produced a lot of useful reloading components, shame they no longer exist.
Timely realization; in the process of working on a load that incorporates the BP12 shot cup. Currently out for testing; 1 w/a nitro card and 1 w/a BP gas seal, might see if these will work with it as well.
Thanks again... |

I just loaded some loads today with the old PGS Alcan wads. I also use them in 12 & 20 ga. loads. I also have Alcan's Air Wedge in 12 & 20. |
