Had a good day at the gun show.... Picked up a bunch of 16 ga stuff.
1# can of 800-X, factory sealed.
1# can of PB, factory sealed.
250 bag of BP's Sporting sporting/field 16 ga wads (#072SG16)
250 bag of BP's Commander 16ga sporting wads (#020Z16)
2 old boxes from Revelation 16 ga shells 2 1/2 Dr.Eq. - 1 oz - #8 which look collectible.
46 once-fired Revelation purple paper hulls.

The guy threw in the empties and the boxes.

Anyone know which primer would be usable in the old papers? I'm guessing they were loaded by Federal for Western Auto, back in the day.

Some days it pays to go out in the rain and wind....

A good day indeed!

And what’s a little wind and rain to a Mainer. (Notice, I didn’t say “MAINIAC”)

Some years ago I was standing out in a long line at a Giffords - in a blizzard - with a bunch of happy Mainers waiting for Gifford’s last-day-of-the-season free ice cream cones. (Double dip as I remember)

Long live Mainers and that Maine spirit.

And while we’re at it - long live the 16ga!

Terrific day, congratulations! I can picture myself right behind you at the table, leaving empty handed.

Just curious, what was the entry fee at the show?

TIA

Good score. I recently had a good gun show day as well. 17 boxes of winchester super #2 steel loads and 7 boxes Gamester activ #6 lead loads for $10 a box. Don't know what to do with #2 steel shot but definitely wanted the cf hulls there loaded in lol.

Joe,

I found #2 steel to be surprisingly effective on pheasants and especially waterfowl, jump and pass shooting or over decoys. It seems to penetrate the duck feathers well for some reason, and it reaches out. The higher the velocity the better, although figuring lead on pass shooting high ducks is tricky, not my best act.

Thank you Brewster, I never thought about pheasants. I knew I could use them for something. I hated to leave cf hulls behind lol. That goes against my hording problem..

Another good day yesterday: Picked up a Weaver k2.5 -C3 in 95%+ condition for 30 bucks. "USA PAT 2949816"

Seems like a lot of scopes have been coming out of the woodwork at the last couple shows.
