| I’ll be interested in what these beautys bring but with the move to straight wall cartridges in so many of the previous shotgun only states I can’t imagine him getting anywhere near $2500 for any of them. |

their value is in what they are, not what they would be used for.
still maybe 1200'ish each. the wood has more value than their hunting value
even though Ohio has gone to straight wall cartridges, I would still use my Deerslayer 2. I have taken LOTS of deer with it and never felt handicapped. With the newer sabots 150 yds are practical.

notice in the article the comparison to energy vs a 45-70.
my DS2 will easily hold 2" at 100 yards.
the problem with the 16ga mentioned in the first post above, is that there are no commercial loads for a 16ga sabot that I know of in the type where you have the sleeves around the slug which drop off. I have seen some loads termed "saboted" |

Every once in while I've seen 16 gauge Lightfield's come up for sale but it is a crap shoot. Lightfield has been out of the hunting sabot business for while and their slugs are bringing crazy prices. |

I’m a little intrigued by the wood. Is it possibly Turkish Walnut? The color looks like American Walnut but the wide stripe pattern suggests Turkish.

I have to admit I was tempted more than once by that 16 but not at $1482. I see the 12ga went for $765. Anyone see what the 20 went for?
And more importantly, did anybody get one of them?  |

| Temped as well as I'm in process of building a dedicated 16ga slug gun. Would love to see how well that thing patterns common slugs. |
