John Allen at Firearm Appraisal Service had a high-condition one listed last week on Guns International. It’s not up now but he may still have it. You can do a search on that site fo FAS and his phone number is listed in his ads. |

Barrel length and choke doesn’t matter |

Does it have to be a Sweet 16?
I've got one from way back (1930's?), but it's got a non-vented Poly-choke and a short length of pull with a brown Pachmayr Decelerator. It's got the old "push-forward safety" in the trigger guard.
It was the first 16 I ever bought, from some LGS up in, I think, Edina, Minnesota.
I know...the above description does not inspire confidence. But, like I tell my young sons, you marry her for what's on the INSIDE, not the outside, because in the end on the outside they all pretty much look the same, but it's what's on the inside that'll actually make the relationship work.
If you are at all interested, let me know and I'l try to figure out how to take some pictures.
P.S. I'm ASSUMING it's a 2 9/16 A5 because it's that old, and has a hard time ejecting 2 3/4 shells that I reloaded for it (they stick sometimes in the ejector port).

I have one from the 1920. I was reblued and the stock refinished when I got it. I changed out the springs a couple of months ago. It functions just fine. If you are interested, pitch me a ballpark figure and I'll send photos. |
