Everyone,
Hunting coats have changed a bit since I first began pheasant hunting in the late 1960s. At that time cotton canvas ruled the roost but today we see new fabrics which still provide warmth but with more flexibility, etc. Cotton canvas is still around but today there are more options to choose from. If you look at the big sellers you will see this: LL Bean Tek Upland ($299) & Upland Field Jacket ($179); Orvis Pro ($198-$398); plus Cabela's, Beretta, Browning, etc. Today for a modern hunting coat the cost starts at almost $200 and can easily hit the $300 mark.
I have a couple of BRAND NEW hunting coats that I can offer up to members of the 16ga Society. They are both in Men's LARGE size. They come from a non-smoking, non-pet owning home so there are no odor issues. There are no rips or tears either.
I want these coats to come into the possession of a party who is a member of the hunting community (upland bird, small game, etc.) and not someone who wants to flip them to make a profit. Thus, my posting here to the 16ga Society where I have satisfactorily sold a few items before.
(1) EDDIE BAUER SPORT SHOP -- MEN'S PARTRIDGE UPLAND SOFT SHELL JACKET.
Size LARGE. "Technical upland hunting jacket. 50% nylon/43% polyester/7% spandex. Soft shell base and 530 denier CORDURA 100% polyester fabric in Blaze (orange) for shooting patches (and back shoulders). Shell pockets and lower half are CORDURA fabric fabric for strength and wear. Rear game/hull pocket. Zippered drop down game bag. Forearm overlay. DWR finish. Interior transmitter pocket on both sides."
This line of upland clothing was introduced by Eddie Bauer in 2012 and stayed around until their inventory was sold out some years later. In the interim they did introduce a new item here and there. It was a shame to see them go. My price for this brand new coat is $110 but that includes the shipping. (I will ship via USPS using their Priority Mail box which will run me either $18.40 or $24.75 depending on the size of box that works best.)
(2) BOYT HARNESS COMPANY -- BOYT UPLAND COAT in Large.
The shell is 100% cotton with a light wax finish. Like the Eddie Bauer coat ALL TAGS ARE ATTACHED. Zipper front. Front load or back load game bag with zipper drop down. Two front zipper pockets and 2 front snap pockets with shell loops. Blaze orange back and shoulders and a bit going down the each arm. Snap adjustable cuffs. Corduroy collar which has a small amount of fading on the crease line fold which nobody should notice in the field. The collar can be snapped in place or allowed to remain loose. Everyone has seen the quality gun cases that BOYT Harness turns out and this coat continues in the same way. Sadly, I believe BOYT dropped its upland clothing line a few years back, but this is a competitive marketplace with some large companies dominating in sales. Like the Eddie Bauer coat I am asking $110 and this includes shipping.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the email address below.
I have a web link for the Eddie Bauer coat that has been posted as part of its 2012 catalog by a party for historical purposes and I can direct you to that if you wish. Just email me. Since I have described these coats carefully and they are brand new, there will be no returns. I would prefer payment in money order form and I will ship promptly then. I pick up my emails six days a week, except on Sundays.
Again any questions please email me.
