Recently got my hands on the shotgun I started out with 60 years ago, a Winchester Model 12 16 gauge, modified choke. And just like the first one, the butt is at just enough of an angle that it wants to slip down off my shoulder. Rather than mess with fitting a new buttpad and possibly harming the original stock, I was wondering if anyone uses any kind of grip tape or other dependable but removable surface treatment that has non-skid properties, but is not so coarse or "grabby" as to interfere with shouldering.
Any suggestions appreciated. |

| I had the same issue with many of those earlier Model 12’s with the curved buttplate. Just too much pitch. I used the tapered pitch spacers from Kickeze and they converted it to basically a neutral pitch. Worked like a champ for me. I’ve done this for several different guns. They were pretty each to fit between the stock and the original buttplate. |
