Have an A5 which needs some sprucing up, wondering if soda blasting might be a good prep for some cold blueing touchup.
TIA

Probably not. The soda will alter the surface condition of the metal, and any blueing will not match.
Just run it until you can have the entire barrel polished and blued. I had good results at Glenrock blue, I polished a really rusty first year model 12 (probably shouldn’t have, but, it was my uncles barn gun from the late 30s until he died, 2005) and they hot blued it.
Not a collector, but, my hands don’t get rusty using it anymore.
Best,

| Second Glenrock Blue recommendation. Quick turn-around and high-quality bluing. |
