| Seems about right- which is why cost savings isn't a reason to reload- particularly for 12 & 20 ga shells. |

| I reload 12,16,20, and 28. I know in some cases I could buy factory loads as cheap or cheaper. However, I enjoy reloading and will continue to shoot close to 100% my reloads. |

The savings still exist in 16, 28 and .410. If you're shooting promo loads in 12 or 20, no savings there.
You can also save if you reload hunting loads in any gauge - they're all going for $17-$18/box and up. Similarly, if you're loading 2 1/2 inch shells, you save. |

I am curious as to you counting the cost of hulls.
Are not hulls free?
Is this a hunting load or target load? |

x2 with DF and Dave more to reloading than cost. Hunting and sub gauge shells and special loads are the pay off not to mention just fun reloading your own ammo. |

My recent costs for 7/8oz loads with 6 loads on new hulls.
powder .11
primer .087
shot .149
wad .042
hull .07
total .458 x 25=$11.45 CDN to USD=$8.19
I could cut my hull cost by using RIO vs Ched hulls as they are a fair bit less here.
Thanks for your update.

| my costs are based on using WSF powder, primers are an average between win and cheddite. wads are claybuster and I buy hulls for .15-.20 and get about 6 reloads, I only shoot trap, about 4 rounds per week in the summer and 2 rds in the winter. |

| I seen this coming long before I retired in 2013. I'm still using powder. Shot primers brand new hull primed. Almost all am still using. Back when 8lbs powder 89 to 110 $. Shot between 10 to 15$. Primers were 89 to 100$ for 5000. Herters factories 59$ flat. Still shooting them I'll be 79 this August and still shooting strong and often. But I just love to reload. Bill |

Got a couple of years on you HAMMER I started stocking up years ago got more than enough supplies to last a lifetime. Like you stated it not about the money reloading is a great pass time and you can build some great loads at the same time. |

| Thanks for the updated costs. Since I only reload (and shoot) 16’s I’ve quit counting and just enjoy all the aspects of the gauge and the antique doubles chambered for it. |
