Gentlemen,
Having checked my 16 and 12 gauge 2 1/2" inventory I order a case of each from Classico (ARMUSA). They arrived this week shipped together, even though I ordered them separately on different days, so the box would only contain one Case of shells and be easier to carry into my home. They shipped them together in one big box, which was very heavy for this 76 year old man to deal with. After I got the heavy box carried into the entry way of our home I cut the heavy box open and decided the 2 Cases of shells down and stored them properly. The 16 gauge shells I ordered were #8 and the 12 gauge shells were # 7 1/2's, so we now have enough shell to last for the next 2 Grouse & Woodcock season, along with Pheasant season thrown in. I highly recommend the ARMUSA Classico 2 1/2" Spanish made shells, very high quality shells that throw real nice Grouse killing patterns from classic double guns. A sportsman can find them on line at AMMOFIX for very reasonable money, about 1/2 the cost of RST because of the high cost of RST shipping.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

I've given RST lots of business this past year and while I absolutely love their products the shipping charges are quite frightful.
I need to explore these shells. Do they load 2-inch stuff by any chance? |

Lloyd3,
I am not sure, however I believe they also have 2" shells in their inventory.
Just checked the AMMOFIX web sight, no 2" 12 gauge shells listed for sale.
all the best,

| AmmoSeek.com is another online ammunition's source, I didn't see any 2" 16ga though. |

Morris Baker is the owner of RST and he is likely more-responsible for the resurrection and/or propagation of the 2-inch 12-gauge shell in this country than any other soul. So accordingly...I don't think anybody else is making them for upland applications.
I'm sure there's quite a story there but I've not heard about it yet.
FWIW: There are now other short 12-gauge shells being made for mostly law-enforcement and combat operations, but they are very high-pressure, big-pellet items and are primarily designed to increase magazine capacity in pump and autoloader shotguns.
To my knowledge, there's never been a 2-inch 16-gauge shell, or a 3-inch either. |

Lloyd3,
I do believe that when Polywad started making 2 1/2" SpredR's Morris wanted to capture the Classic gun shell business and he went even further than Polywad and included making the 2 " 12 gauge shells also in his business package. He also went even further telling all the Classic gun owner that his shells would in no way damage Classic guns, that in fact his shells were made for Classic guns. Morris has the very best Classic gun shells on the market today, I just wish he would come up with a better shipping cost! It's almost like Morris is using the high shipping cost to keep his sales where he wants them, so he does not have to make more shelf then he wants to at any given time. My Grouse hunting Partner Ken Graft is good friends with Morris, I have only met him one time at shooting event.
all the best,
Pine creek/Dave

I always stock up on RST's at the annual NE SXS event at Hauseman's Hollow. They have a booth every year so there is no shipping fee.
Those ARMUSA shells look like a deal though that I might need to take advantage of soon. |
