Greetings and welcome on.

as for twin barrel guns under 1K - they are out there and if you know what to look for...

you probably would not be asking here, would you?

If you're in the up/down market and have approx. 1500 to spend, you can find a better quality of gun (although used) than some of the new guns out there.

If you are just looking for function and don't mind "less form" so to speak, you can find some nice sxs guns with lesser known names - This is the route I chose to get my "first" sxs - at the time I was thinking it would be my only one...yet again, I was wrong - I will own more in time.

In the new gun area under 1K - look at the Rem Spartan/Baikil guns - they are heavy and solidly built - think Russian Women Swim Team...

Do a search here in the gun section for "buying a sxs" or similar - there have been several threads asking the same questions - a few are my own Wink

Also - search on gunbroker.com and other auction sites - look at the prices vs. condition on makes/models you might like - this will help you narrow your search and price range...

Handle as many different guns as you can to feel what you like and how it compares to other makes/models. You will soon understand why higher priced guns are so.

Good luck in your search,
Sprocket

DeHann offers some really nice SxS guns, and they are not overly expensive. I believe you will find some within your budget. Here is a link to his website.

You can get a pretty good idea of current prices for used doubles here:

For a beater/all around look into the Spartan-not pretty or well finished but will go bang every time---I just put 5000 rounds thru mine.Next on the list would be a Browning.

I'm sorry...

Do it once. Do it right. Get a browning...in an up/dn configuration (and maybe one of those auto-ejecting humpy thingamobobs)

There, I said it, Dad would be proud - TFR, crow is not all that tasty when one is forced to eat it...

sxs = 2 triggers, after that, it's your preference
