Found this in another thread:

Quote:
I talked to Kirk Jensen at Browning (the guy who fixed my 525), he told me that a gentleman by the name of Bill Hicks has ordered 150 Citori 525's in 16 gauge to be built in 2007.

Got me thinking, what is the magic number for browning to do a special run? If they have already got the tooling up for the 16ga BPS, then what would I want in a my BPS? If we could get a group of us together now we might convince a dist to make a special order..

I'd like to see:

Straight stock, grade II/III wood with oil finish.

Slim forend design, closer to the 37

22 or 24" barrel

Grade II roll engraving. (seems like the billboard side of the BPS screams for some kinda fancy. I vote for a pointer on one side, and flushing grouse or quail on the other, would also go for a roll engraved copy of the A-5 style around "Browning" and "Sixteen".)

Fitted clamshell takedown case, AKA fusion gold comes with.

Anyone else got some Ideas? Pure dreaming in my book would include an alloy reciever (although I'd like to have a blued metal appearance) and a an alloy mag tube to bring the weight to 6.25 lbs.

Forgot two things,

rounded heel solid butt plate for quick snag free mounts and

16 frame stock shim, reversible, for cast on and cast off! (you could take it out and still have neutral cast, if you like)

I'ed like to to see it in the BPS Trap. Yes, I want the 30 in barrel. They would have to make chokes for it. Put my name on the lis for one of the firs ones.

How about case coloring!?! If they can do it to a steel O/U or SxS, why can't it be done to a steel pump receiver? Throw in the high grade english stock, and a nice case. That would be an awesome upland gun.

That would be distinctive, but browning doesn't do much case coloring, although I think they have done some on the citori line. I'd go for it if they would do it for not too much extra...

On that Note what's the Max a Grade II Upland special 16 would bring on the market? The Grade II traps run in the $600's last I saw, but haven't seen one listed in a while.

as an update on my previous post, I'd rather have a 24" barrel on an upland pump.
