I know they are built on a 12 frame so will be on the heavy side. That being said is anyone out there shooting on of these and how do you like it? Over the years I aquired 3 16 semi autos a Belgian Sweet 16, a Rem 11-48 and a Rem 48 Sportsman. My son got interested in 16 gas. that's good, but took my 2 Rems. that's bad. Might just buy a 1100 SF if someone has any recommendation. Thanks. |

I haven't followed Remington's product line in recent years, but the Special Field was a straight stock, short barrel version. The gun shown in oldhunters's link isn't a Special Field. |

I'm not a Remington person, but just wanted to show one that was for sale. As far as auto's go I didn't know anybody wanted anything but A-5's. Just kidding. I just picked up my new Remington SPR310 o/u today. He's a friend of mine where that one is listed. |

I have an 1100 like the one on G.B. and love it! I also looked at the new ones (last year) and I thought the new one to be heavier than my older one. I did see a couple of new ones last weekend that were the classic field model. One at the gander mtn. Baxter MN ($599). the other Gander Mtn. St. Cloud MN. price unknown |

Exactly. I had a 20 as well as the 870 Special Field. Didn't like either one due to the straight stock. |

That straight stock belongs on a target gun |

Goofed again, they were Classic Fields, not Special Fields. I respectfully disagree about straight stocks only belong on target guns. How many Trap or special field shotguns do you see with straight or English grips? Most of my SxSs have straight grips and they are hunting guns, also have DTs. |
