You're killin' me Brit. But seriously, I understand why you're sticking with Winchesters. After you get one, you need at least a few more for parts...

Well I have a couple of twelves for Trap and that is it. If it weren't for trap I probably would not own a 12. I have several 16's along with a few 28's and one 20. A couple of 42-410 just for the heck of it.
I do use a mod. 12-16 on trap also but alot of the guys don't like the Idea of getting hammered by a 16 so I don't shoot it at trap as often as I would like.
Anyway if I had the chance to trade a Win. 21 12ga for a 16ga I would do it in a heartbeat. I have had several chances to purchase a 21-12ga but they just never did anything for me. Now a 16 is another thing. Someday the right one will come along and the price will be right. Don't act on what I am saying this is just my thoughts. Good Luck |

I've been twelveless for nine years. No I'm not a 12 basher. I think it has a lot to offer, depending what you do with a shotgun. When I turned 50, I decided I should try to hunt more. I got a deer permit and took my last 12 gauge to the field. I remember saying to myself, "why am I doing this. Your going to have a heart attack dragging out something no one wants" When I got home, I sold my last 12 gauge to my neighbor.
Now I only bird hunt, shoot skeet and a little sporting clays. A 20 or 16 works just fine. About a week ago, I got the bug to get a 12. I think only because the shells are easier to find. They also have the best steel shot offerings too. Any way, I looked at Benneli's but put off the decision. Last weekend I shot sporting clays with a friend who had a Benelli 12 ga and I used it on a few stations. I'm glad I didn't buy one. You can get a light twelve, but you can't take the bulk out of one. They just don't feel right. |

thanks, the Federal Steel No. 2's have worked pretty good for me, but your right, stuff like Kent Fast Steel is better.... but they don't make that for 16....
