| < 16ga. Guns ~ remington express youth in 16ga. |

| I see that remington is still making the 16ga. in the express youth, i was wondering if any of you guys had picked up the youth models in any guage. The reason i'm wondering this is at only 6.5 lbs and being short that this could be a great gun in the grouse woods. What do you guys think. |

I'd say thats good thinking. Could very well make a quick pump gun for grouse. Would be good also for quail and chukar. If you need to make the length of pull longer well thats easy to do. you got a good idea  |

Only see 20ga listed on the website. Even that is listed at 6 1/2 lbs. And adding to the stock will add weight, of course.
Why not buy a 16ga and cut the barrel or see if you can find a slug barrel cheap. You'll end up with pretty much the same gun either way.
P.S. I have an 870 express 16ga listed on the guns for sale page. Would be perfect for your little project. |

| To find it you have to go to the new 2007 products and click on the shotgun specifications pdf. and just scan down the guage column to you see 16ga. it's the only 16ga. they have listed. |

actually remington did stop producing the 16 ga youth early last year. and this year has stopped producing the full size express too. I love my youth model. it has its advantages and dissadvantages though. I find it fits me well, seeing how I normally have to shorten my guns due to my short height.
advantage, short bbl, great for brushy situations. and patterns the same as a longer bbl gun. I got this gun as my primary rabbit gun for that reason. moved up from a 20ga, which had a 28" bbl. had a very hard time swinging in brush. no prob. with my 21" 16ga.
dissadvantage. not real good for wing shooting, swings fast.
of course I am used to my sportsman '48 16ga. with a 26" bbl. |

| My last catalog from CDNN, the closeout place in Abiline Texas has the express 16 ga youth listed. If I remember right the price was $249 |
