Every double I have is supposed to be IC/Mod but only one of them has been patterned. Don't know if any of them actually provide the stated patterns but since they work well I don't really care. I have one gun only with tubes and in the seventeen years I have owned it nothing but the IC/Mod tubes have been in it.

I must be getting old and forgetful, but I can still laugh at myself. I went shooting sporting clays this weekend with my Citori 16 ga. I remember thinking I needed to put in IC and Mod. chokes. I didn't do well on the long shots which surprised me. When I got home and cleaned the gun, I found I had two cylinder chokes in the gun. I guess I forgot to change them. |

Sprocket, I think, again your mistaken. 16 gauge guy was in his later 40's when the proto type of your gun was being thought about. |

I find that I tend to shoot more open chokes than many people do on birds and tighter chokes than most do on sporting clays.
Most common in my guns during early season is either cylinder/Skeet 1 and IC. That takes in dove, quail and pheasant until January. In a single barrel gun, it is usually IC.
Later season pheasant and quail is usually an IC and an IM. In a single barrel gun, I have had good luck with LM or Skeet II, depending on the restrictions and markings on the tube.
Sporting Clays is IM and IM. Skeet is cyl and skeet I.
Last year, I took some advice from a National Sporting Clays champion and started shooting some practice rounds of skeet with full and full. It really gets you "into the zone" and have actually shot a 23 doing so. If I am going from the skeet range to the sporting clays range, I will shoot a round or two of skeet with the IM/IM and then have found that my scores will be 3-5 birds better on the sporting clays range.
