Or just buy a universal charge bar for your Mec and be able to adjust both powder and shot to your liking. |

Make sure whichever bushing you use that you WEIGH YOUR DROPS. I cannot stress that enough. The bushings are a guide per powder but may drop more or less. Make sure you weigh a few drops to ensure your drops are less than maximum pressure. This part cannot be stressed enough.
And I don't think you're being a pest at all. In fact, I feel I should warn you about the addiction you are about to embark on. Its kind of like collecting 16 gauge guns. |

I want to thank everybody for there help. I think I've got some of it figured out. I'm joining the reloader group. I've downloaded and printed out so much information. Good thing I've got a new printer. Couple more questions. What shell do most of you use for reloading? I found one place here in Minnesota that handles 16 gauge hulls and wads. Also for a 1 oz. load, fairly hot which powder would you reccomend? I'm leaning towards Hodgdon universal with a cheddite hull. Are fiochi hulls cheddite? What about the hulls from PMC? |

Oldhunter--As you are (apparently) just beginning to reload I would like to butt into your business and suggest that you begin by crafting some rather MILD loads while you are getting your 'feet wet' in this loading business. There are many very effective 1oz. loads that will allow you to get a 'feel' for loading and build some experience at the press. Go Slow. I mean no offense and realize that what you choose to do is really none of my business. |

I guess I worded that wrong. I want to keep the loads down below 8000 psi. i want to be able to shoot them in my Fox BSE as the stock was broke twice by my son using magnum loads. These are mostly for grouse and woodcock. Well i've got to go. The dogs are excited again. Had a Ferret out in my shop today. Dogs are trying to catch it. Hope it's gone. I left the doors open. |
