16 gaugeguy A duck it isn't. But try this. The next time you have a bunch over for a wild game feed of different bird. Start up the grill. Wrap you mallards in bacon ant aluminum foil. Then wrap some rice hen breasts in bacon and aluminum foil. I would have marinated them in one of my marinades. Maybe even a woodduck or two, a pheasant, sorry no grouse as I eat them right away. Oh yess this is the one that's going to upset everybody. Take the breasts of that hooded merganser that you shot by mistake, not the big mergansers now. Now make sure you don't overcook anything. Don't tell anybody which is which and you will be surprised. Nobody will be dissapointed. Only you as you will wish you had more to give them of the ones you yourself would not pick. Have a good meal. Just don't forget the potato's and onions.

Grouse and chukars are pretty much equal. Can't go wrong with either one.

I have an awesome recipe for Super Slab Fricasee' But I'll have to dig it out and find it. It's almost as good as my mouth waterin' Shorthair Roasts in wine sauce.
