I have just finished loading my first few boxes of 16 gauge shells, only to realize I have no boxes. If anyone that doesn't reload has a few laying around for 2 1/2" shells I could use them.

SH,
I have bought the regular white 2 3/4 inch boxes and then inserted a piece of corrugated cardboard cut to size. It has worked very well.

I use the plastic tubs, that dog bones come in, they hold about 400 shells. |

I wouldn't mind having some boxes to help segregate different loads. At first I filled up a cartridge carrier designed to hold four boxes of 12 gauge cartridges. After realizing I really don't want to carry 130+ rounds I started stuffing them in 28 gauge boxes. Four rows of four fits well enough and I can label each box for content. I'd still like some 16 gauge boxes but at this I can't see buying what most people throw away. I put the word out in a couple of other places so maybe something will come from that.

Snipe Hunter, I can't help but respond to your login name. I see a lot of snipe here in WA. when I'm slogging the marshes for ducks. Are they tasty? Snipe hunting sounds like great fun, sort of like upland hunting in the marsh. |

UncleDanFan, I don't think you'd be interested. They're not that sporty and don't taste all that good. By the way, can you tell me exactly where you see all those snipe?
I do simple recipes. Some good camp casserole dishes with wild rice or wrap them in bacon. They are dark meat, a little bit milder than dove while basically the same size. Yesterday I marinaded some in italian dressing and by dinner time all they needed was to be wrapped in bacon and put under a fire for twelve minutes. All of my recipes are basic but some people go all out. I will add a link at the bottom where you can see what they looked like prepared. When someone posts a recipe at the snipe forum I am the guinea pig that will try it out. It sounds like you already know where the birds are so you ought to take a few home with you one day next year. I'm not saying you'll give ducks up for them, but I doubt if you'll be disappointed.
