I have an older bolt action 16ga, that is in good shape. What i was wondering if anyone has ever done any upland hunting with a bolt action. |

My first shotgun, way back in the 60's, was a Sears bolt action with a tubular feed and modified choke. The thing never worked right, when you tried to bolt in a shell after firing, the whole magazine load of shells shot up through the open action. Used it as a single shot and it must have fit me pretty well as I could hit pretty good with it. Been thinking about getting another for old times sake, just to play around with. A couple of weeks ago there were three or 4 on the auction sites. I was outbid on a couple. |

I have a bolt action 16 gauge Mossberg. My brother has used it hinting with considerable success. It has the Moosberg version of a Playchoke on it. There is another one for sale here in Anchorage Alska in a local gun shop. |

I had a 16ga J C higgins bolt action....It was my first shotgun...Bought it from my cousin...when he bought a new 870..I used it for a couple years until the stock cracked bad while shooting at a pheasant...I made a new stock for it in shop class but gave the gun to my neighbor when my Dad gave me his Ithaca 37.....ah the memories |
