I just bought 1,000 Remington STS primers.
Most of the combinations using Remington primers on the low pressure group spreadsheets use the Remington 209 and 209P primers. Can a fella substitute the STS for the other primers??
Also, I have primed 200 black Rem hulls with the STS primers and have the following components:
Longshot, Unique and Green Dot powders
SP-16. SG20L and SG16 wads
What would you use for a 3/4 or 7/8 oz low pressure, mild recoil load??
Thanks in advance |

I would suggest you join the 16 ga. LPG because it will give you tons of loading recipes plus other great info. It is well worth the few bucks it will cost you. You can pick out many different loads that will use the componets you have on hand that suit your velocity and pressure needs and your on your way. Its the best loading info on the net. Many of us guys here are members. |

Captian,
I am a member of the group. I'm just looking to see how others feel about the different loads that are published. I'm thinking that some of them work out better than others and am looking for some input from those who have tried them. |

There's a Word document in the LPG files that's all about primers. Great stuff & very helpful, and it specifically addresses your STS question. |

Rudy:
In our data sheets the Rem 209 P is the 209 STS Premier. Russ |

Remington's designation for the STS primers is 209PSTS. The cartons I have say "209 Premier STS Primers".
When they first came out I recall reading on the Remington site that the 209P and the 209 STS were essentially the same and could be used interchangably.

I believe it's also on the side of the STS box too |
