I was looking at their Internet site. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge to share about the Dakota Arms line of double-barreled shotguns? Thanks GWW

Handled them, never shot one. If they perform like their rifles they should be awesome.

Is Dakota Arms actually making the shotgun or they "made by furriners". I have never looked at thier site.

Saw some at the Dallas Safari Club convention a couple of years ago. I wish I could have bought one, they were as nice as any I have seen.

The Dakota doubles are made by SIACE in Italy to Dakotas specs. There is a field model in 16ga. List prices approach 5 big ones. Check shotgunworld posts, somebody there has probably shot or owns one.

I shoot with a guy who bought a Dakota Superlight 28. Don't think he was halfway through a flat of shells when one of the ejectors broke. They told him it was a gun made for hunting, not shooting "lots of targets". 28ga . . . you've got to be kidding me. Shot charge to weight ratio, even on a very light gun, isn't much different than it is on a heavy 12ga target gun. You buy a light 16 and shoot lots of 1 1/8 oz loads through it, that's a different story. But 3/4 oz is more than a gun can handle, if you shoot more than a couple boxes a season?

I've looked at half a dozen of these guns. I think the design is really good but every one of 'em had things wrong. Weird stuff that shouldn't have gotten past any kind of quality control. One 16 gauge I looked at was superb, beautiful wood, perfect balance but the top rib where it met the breech was way off to the side. Just unbelievable on a 5K gun. I just gave up looking at them as a possible purchase.
