I have a case of Fiocchi 16 gauge high velocity loads and also some 16 gauge Golden Pheaants. I wondered if anyone knew the pressure of these loads. My impression is that Fiocche loads generally have less pressure than some of the athers. I know thehe high velocit are 3 and 1/8th dram but that does not tell me the pressure.`I can't seem to buy the standeard game load locally. Thanks.

Hard to know how to interpret the Fiocchi data. The website states "All products are loaded to either C.I.P. or SAAMI specifications." Fiocchi is an Italian Co. that loads most of the US products in Ozark, MO. The problem is that CIP (European/British) uses a different measurement than SAAMI (US) SO with most CIP data, you need to add 400-1000 psi for the SAAMI equivalent. The Fiocchi 16GT 1 oz. load is reported to run 6810 psi, but actual pressure testing by Tom Armbrust for the 16ga Low Pressure Reloading Group showed it to be 7500 psi SO they must be using CIP data.
I'd probably add 400-1000 psi to what they publish. |

Thanks for the responses. The problem I am ahving is that the ppost on this cite shows the pressure for the Field one and one eigth and for the one onuce Game anf Target but not for the high velovity or Golden Pheasant.
I have not been able to locate where it is that they publish these pressures or I would look there. Based on the earlier post covering the Game and Target load and the Field load I hoped someone migh hav the information on these other two loads. Thanks. |

The 2007 Fiocchi catalog lists the following pressures:
16 Golden Pheasant 3 1/4dr, 1 1/8oz@ 1310fps- 10910psi
16 HV 3 1/8dr, 1 1/8oz@ 1300fps- 10270psi
16 FLD 2 3/4dr, 1 1/8oz@ 1185fps- 8890psi
16 GT 2 1/2dr, 1oz@ 1165fps- 6810psi
Keep in mind Drew's notion about an additional 400-1000psi
