I'm having trouble deciding on the gauge. The 16ga is very tempting but I'm not even sure where to order one. Anyone know where I can?

I've looked at and held the 12g and it was pretty heavy. How are the low recoil loads for the 12g. I don't like a lot of recoil. Should I consider the 20g? I do mostly dove hunting with a little sporting clays/skeet/five stand. Mostly a hunting gun though.

Thanks,
Brett

Posting this question on another site rather than here on 16ga. would get you different responses I'm sure. Of course, we here think the 16ga. is without parallel as an all-around hunting gun, with the possible exception of heavy waterfowl use, which isn't something you mentioned. The 16 BPS should be a full pound lighter than the 12, but will allow you to shoot the hottest 16 1 1/4 oz. mags. Get the 16. Order it at your browning dealer, done deal.

Call Linda at Browning Customer Service. She'll be able to answer your questions and tell you what dealers to buy from. 1-800-333-3288, extension 697.

Or, you could just go to your local Browning dealer, give him the factory code for the model you like. The code # for a 26" Upland is 012216514. My dealer said if the code # comes up on his distributor's website, he can get the gun. It did and I ordered one. But that was back in February before the supposed order deadline. Good luck.

012216515 Upland 24"
012211513 Hunter 28"

Also, look at www.gzanders.com. They list all the BPS models in 16 gauge. You just have to get an FFL dealer to order it.
