ok, work complete, they tell me that it was a faulty ejector and I'm picking it up later today. Big test tonight at the trap range and we'll see.
cost=2 bills. |

I hope your Citori works flawlessly from here on out. Mine is still in the Arnold service facility awaiting a gunsmith. Hopefully, I'll see her by Labor Day.
Best of luck,

CK, I'm not the type to pat someone on the shoulder and sob with him about his problem. I attempt to help solve it. To me, it beats the hell out of a pity party.
The advice I offered was not directed at anyone in particular. It was offered in good faith, because it always works for me. It will work for anyone who must have warranty work done. If you see it as a diatribe, then perhaps you've missed the point entirely. Taking shots at folks who are attempting to help is not wise. Why not think it over a bit before cocking your hammer.
If you want to join the Rizzini weenies, that is your choice. Just look down those barrels before you buy is the very best tip I can afford you on that one. |

16GG,
I'm not looking for sympathy, just expressing support for fellow Citori owners with malfunctioning guns.
I may have missed your point; however, your post was all about
how to handle customer service reps over the phone. In my post, I referenced my phone conversation with a customer service rep. from Browning. Hmm. So your post, immediately following mine, seemed rather poignant. Or maybe I am too self absorbed. (Go ahead and insert your own joke here)
In any case, your advice is sound. "Why not think it over a bit before cocking your hammer." and that is a street runs both ways.

I'm glad you got your problem fixed and that it was something relatively simple.
I was surprised that you had a problem with it in the first place because I have 2 Citori's and 1 525 and they have collectively had tens of thousands of rounds through them without a problem.
That said, guns are like people, most are pretty good but sometimes you get a lemon . Unfortunately people can't be sent back to the factory for warranty work. Sure would be nice if that was possible.
Anyway, good to see you back in action. |

WW,
Glad to see your Feather is up and running again. How'd she do at trap Thurs?
I'm heading up to Shongum on Sunday to throw some more lead around. |

100 targets thursday and 100 today...
All is well. Actually took a little getting used to again after shooting my 12 for 4 weeks.
As part of the fix, they loosened it up and it opens and closes much easier now. The gunsmith said that irt was a jam in the ejectors that needed adjustment.
Might be time to start looking for a more heavy duty sporting shotgun and use the feather for upland. Tough choice because I really enjoy shooting the citori. |

From what I've been reading lately, seems Browning is having problems regulating their barrels.
Two instances in the last month were POI has been more than a foot off from POA.
I sure hope this doesn't become a Browning epidemic. |

My only experiences with alloy-receivered guns:
I've had a 12-gauge Beretta 686 UL Onyx with 28" barrels since February 1999, and it's never had so much as failure to eject. It looks plain as mud, but it's reliability has been perfect.
On the other hand, my brother had a 12-gauge Citori Feather (straight hand and 26" barrels, if I remember correctly) that went back to Browning twice for the same reason ... failure to fire the second shot. I was there for both instances, and this was a legit malfunction and not user error. The man's a lifelong bird hunter and a fine shot in the field. To my knowledge, Browning charged him zip, he paid only shipping to them. The second time it came back, he did not take it afield again but instead used it in trade on a Silverhawk. |
