Hey all.

Recently picked up an old Flues 16 that is in pretty nice shape.... the right barrel is marked 2 and the left has a 4/4...... I am guessing that the 4/4 is an extra full choke.... would that be correct....
Thanks.

0=Cylinder
1=Imp Cyl
2=Modified
3=Imp Cyl
4=Full

Be sure to measure your chokes though, mine is marked 0/4 but the left barrel was opened up to Imp Cyl/Skeet.

Mike,
Thanks for the reply..... the left barrel is marked with a 4/4.... the size of the numbers is a little smaller than what is usually used..... this is the marking for that barrel and the right barrel is stamped with a normal sized number 2.....

I thought that maybe a four-slash-four mark in smaller than normal size might mean extra full...... ??

Apparently Ithaca had some Brit gunmakers working when the started marking chokes, The just left off the bottom 4 in the fraction, I have seen several Ithacas marked 1/4 and 2/4 etc. But i haven't seen it with one barrel, one way and the second barrel the other..some early American makers wouldn't try to go any tighter than "Full", because they couldn't gaurantee good patterns..
