Does anyone used Westley Richards 2 1/2" 1oz. shells in a damascus gun?
The sales person said they are safe to use, but they seem pretty hot.
Thanks,
Chris |

The last information I have on Westley Richards for a 2 1/2 inch 28 gram load shows a MV of 1169 fps and chamber pressure of 11080 psi which is about 4000psi above what I would use in a damascus barrel in good condition. The testing was done by Armbrust on 7-15-01 so Westley Richards may have changed suppliers but I would want some hard numbers from the manufacturer or current test data before I started using them in a damascus gun. |

I agree , RST and www.polywad.com both have excellent loads for vintage guns. |
