You read wrong. The 20 gauge inserts will not fit in a 2 1/2" chamber and if you cut them off so they will fit the 2 3/4" shells will stick out the end and you'll have a hell of a time getting the fired hull out.

I have a set of the 12/20 chambermates that I use in my Marlin model 90 and they work great. The cheap Remington Gunclub and game loads work just as well as the AA's and STS's, but the winchester and federal promo loads will stick every time.
