I note that the big bismuth shotshell maker seems to be out of business and the stocks of bismuth shells are running out in stores. What sources might we have left to provide non-toxic shells or shot which can be safely used in older shotguns? I don't want to give up my use of older, good-handling guns when hunting on public lands or for ducks, but there seems to be a lack of alternatives developing. Sad

GWW--Ballistic Products carries many bismuth and T/M choices. Other 'non-toxic' choices are also availabel from BP. Mac's Prarie Wings in Stuttgart, Ar. is also a source for 'politically correct' shot. There are doubtlessly others.

Haiwee, have you actually ordered/received bismuth from Hunters Bismuth? I've heard rumors that it's a dead end deal.

Dunno why it keeps coming up. No one has ever gotten an email or phone call back from "Hunters Bismuth". Dunno why the site is still up.

The name of the company is ecotungsten, shot is called nice shot and you use the same loading components that are used for lead. They claim it's a direct replacement. A little pricey but heck how many rounds does one shoot in a year?
Good luck Charlie

seems to be close to the bismuth prices (when you could get it)

$155/7lb = $22.15 per lb

Swapping some e-mails with NICE SHOT/ECOTUNGSTEN.
They say they can supply 2's 4's & 5's now and are planning 6's, 7's and 7 1/2's soon. Pricey but probably necessary for some of you who have been bulldozed by lead hysteria.
