While doing some article research this past week, I was trying to get in touch with the Bismuth Cartridge Company. Several of the phone numbers I had for reps had been disconnected. I finally got through on an 800 number listed on their web site and got an attorney's office.
The very nice young lady I spoke to was hesitant to provide any information and just told me that she needed a call-back number and she would have someone contact me.
I received a phone call from a lady attorney today. She advised me that effective 1 May 2007 that the Bismuth Cartridge Company is no longer in business. Although she would not provide specific details it appears that they are in bankruptcy/receivership.
So, if you like shooting Bismuth, I suggest that you stock up on existing supplies. I'll keep the board posted if I hear of them getting picked up by any other manufacturer.

Terry...
You are correct about the Bismuth Company going out of business. My understanding is that the gentleman who was the primary operator/owner of the company passed away a few months ago and his heirs were not interested in continuing to run the enterprise. Seems that any efforts to sell out the company to a new player never worked out either, and so the company was folded.
Too bad. As you know, I do not like steel shot and was a regular Bismuth shooter during my occasional forays into Booger Swamp, USA!

Yeah, they have to call them "easy pour pellets" to get past patent infringement problems. |
