The A5 is now HOME!!!!
Two scratches on the barrel courtesy of the transferring dealer. Grrrrr but her destiny is not to be some pristine closet queen...
My wife said I reminded her of Gollum, purring over his "precious".
CANNOT WAIT 'Till teal and wood duck season !! And the doves better beware, as well.
In addition, went to an out of the way hardware store and what did i find? Boxes and boxes of 16 shells...sitting dusty and unloved on the shelf. Bought the old man out (including a couple of boxes of Kent Tungsten Matrix for CHEAP). The Gentleman was surprised that a "young'un" (Im 41) would be looking for 16 shells...in his opinion the only "real" gauge for a bird gun...
Order of Bismuth came in last week. All set to go!
Thanks for all the good-natured ribbing - made the wait even more fun.
Will post pics when I get my camera from school...
The journey begins....

All right! They sure are fun! Nothing like hearing that action snap shut: CHINK! They don't make the like that anymore, that's for sure.
Yes, we need pictures and all of the specs.
Congratulations!
(that "Agony" thread was the most fun I've had on the net for a long time) |

I'll let a few ducks leak through to Fla. so you have something to shoot at.

James, you might want to stock up on a few cases of dirt birds. I have a couple of new to me 16bores in the stable, a sweet little German sxs and an older Ithaca 37. Also just picked up about 15 flats of assorted shells.
Unlike Jeff posted above I DO NOT intend to let anything through the Arkansas flyway to proceed south. Greedy, I know, but these little beautys need blooding!!!!
Good luck, and happy 16ing.

'scratches'
Have a very good manager of our local Ace hardware (a fellow gun nut) where I receive my occasional purchases. I let him know that when my custom 28ga SxS comes in from Mark DeHaan that I want to be there when it is opened.
Then there will be no 'surprises' and if it is not perfect back it goes. Besides this way two of us will experience the grand opening of a new toy. |
